The websites of these companies either stopped working or their speed became very slow. These include many airlines, banks, and tech companies. Apart from this, the apps of OTT platforms like Sony Liv, Hotstar also suddenly went down in the evening.
According to outage tracking website Downdetector, these websites were temporarily stalled due to a problem with the Domain Name System (DNS). However, now his operation is fine. The websites of these companies were not loading due to the outage. The system was reporting an error in the Domain Name System service.
Cloud service provider company Akamai Technologies (AKAM.O) said that we are looking at problems with Edge DNS service. It is being verified.
Impact on American companies
Due to the non-working of DNS, big companies in America have been affected more. These include several airlines, banking, and IT companies including Delta Air Lines (DAL.N), Costco Wholesale Corp (COST.O), and American Express (AXP.N).
