Younis Khan stepped down as batting coach been coach of Pakistan for only 6 months, veteran batsmen were upset over not being considered in team selection

Younis Khan has decided to step down as the batting coach of the Pakistan team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that it and Younis have taken the decision with mutual consent. This means that he will no longer be with the team on the tour of England and West Indies. It is believed that Younis was upset with his opinion being continuously ignored in the Pakistan team selection.

neither PCB nor Younis Khan has told why this happened. Younis was present during the camp of Pakistan team Test team. Younis Khan was appointed batting coach for two years before Pakistan’s last tour of England. His contract also had the option of extending the 2023 World Cup. Yunus was also given the responsibility of the Batsman Development Program.

Two Test draws, three defeats,
Pakistan team has achieved mixed results under Younis Khan’s batting coach. Under his coach, the Pakistan team drew two Tests in England and New Zealand and had to face defeat in three. However, Pakistan had won the home Test series against South Africa. After this, Pakistan won both the white ball series in South Africa. The team won in Zimbabwe.

Yunus had turned down the PCB offer twice and there have been ups and downs in relation to PCB. After retirement in 2017, he had twice got offers from the board but he turned it down. He finally agreed to become the batting coach at the end of last year.
